To the Chisholm Family
We are sorry to hear about the passing of Willie Chisholm. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family . Although it may seem that death have robbed us of another family member or friend; it is far from the truth. We make this statement because of this wonderful promise that God makes to all families of the earth. Especially to those who have lost someone in death. In this wonderful promise, God tells us that even if a person dies, that He would use His great powers to restore that person back to life.(John 5:28-29) From this one text alone, God is giving us His personal guarantee that Willie, and billions of others would have their lives restored back to them. There is no others person that could carry out this promise of restoring someone life back to them. Again the scriptures clearly show that God has a longing or yearning to do just so.(Job 14:13-15) If you were asked if you desired to see Willie and other family members alive again; there is no doubt that you would answer yes. Well God wants the very same thing for you. It is His purpose that the earth be filled with people. That purpose has not changed. (Isaiah 55:11) So the resurrection to life will allow this purpose of God to take place. You have spent years building a bond of love and friendship with Willie. Now you are left with a record of treasured memories. Yet from the scriptures God assures all those who have lost anyone in death, that they will see them again. That they will be reunited back among the many family members and friends. We must build strong confidences in this promise of God. This can be done by reading the nine accounts in the bible that has been preserved so that we can draw comfort from them, and to build up our faith and trust in God. Here is just one such example recorded at Luke 8:49-56. May we encourage all to take the time to consider the verses. Yes see how the verses would apply to Willie Chisholm, as God uses His great powers to restore him back to life. Now envision what this time period will be like, as you witness with your own eyes this wonderful miracle from God. Those former tears of sadness is now gone. In it place there will be tears of joy and laughter. In fact the whole earth will be filled with joy and laughter because of the resurrection to life taking place. To the Chisholm family we say please keep this promise from God near your heart always. The resurrection will take place because we have God's personal promise. Remember that it is impossible for God to ;lie.(Titus 1:2)

When we meet someone who shares our joys
Who knows when we are up or down
Who shows they care in so many ways
And never lets us down
That is who we can call our friend
With Deepest Sympathy

When our loved ones fall asleep in death, our hearts become heavy with grief and sadness. The Bible offers us words of comfort. Hosea 13:14 says; From the power of the grave I (God) will redeem them; From death I will recover them. May you also find comfort in the words found at Psalm 147:3 which says; He (God) heals the brokenhearted; He binds up their wounds. These scriptures can help you cope with the sadness and grief during this time of bereavement.

Almighty God created us to live, not to die. Ecclesiates 3:11 says, "He has put eternity in their heart(our)." We die because we are imperfect, but God promises a resurrection of our dear loved ones. Revelation 21:4 says, "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." May this scripture comfort you.

Reflecting on the Bible-based hope of a resurrection can be the greatest comfort of all. Please, take comfort from Jesus’ words to Martha after Lazarus’ death. He said to her: ‘Your brother will rise.’”—John 11:23 May the God of tender mercies grant you and your family comfort at this time.

To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. We thank God for Chisholm being a part of our family. He was a good father to Johnise and husband to Johnnie and friend to the Beasley Family and our uncle the late Tommy Thomaston. May God comfort your hearts as you celebrate his home going and remember his life and his love.
