Mr. Virgil Elson Robinson, Jr., passed on June 18, 2022. The memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2022, at our chapel at 11 a.m. with Reverend James W. Goolsby, officiating.
Virgil Robinson Jr. was born in Atlanta, Georgia on August 27, 1959. He was the youngest of three children born to the late Virgil Robinson Sr. and Mamie Lee Robinson. He was educated in the Atlanta Public School system attending Booker
T. Washington High School. Leaving a legacy of love of family and friends, he departed this life on Saturday, June 18, 2022.
Virgil accepted Christ at an early age and joined Chapel Hill Missionary Baptist Church of Atlanta. The late Rev. E.T. Strozier who was the Pastor, affectionately pinned the nickname on Virgil as “The Man of the house”. It was then that family and friends began calling him “Man”.
Virgil had a heart for people: A witty conversationalist who never met a stranger. He was also a babysitter and caregiver. He cared for his one and only niece, Andrea (Niki) until she was old enough to attend nursery school. He also cared for
his cousin, Avis (Puddin) at an early age. He assisted in the caregiving of his mother until her passing. Even though Virgil had physical challenges of his own, he served as a caregiver for his sister, Gwen until his death. Well known as a devout food connoisseur, he became a wonderful cook.
Virgil leaves to cherish his memory, two sisters, Gwen Shivers and Cynthia Sims
(Anthony); one nephew, Brandon Sims (Tiffany); one niece, Andrea Varner
(Michael); one great-niece, Zoë; three great-nephews, Zion, Zamir, and Zaire; and
a host of other relatives and friends.
