Born on August 20, 1954 to the late Rolland Wardell and Genella Knight in Carroll County, Villa Rica, Ga. At an early age, his parents moved to Atlanta, Ga. Tony was educated in Atlanta Public Schools system, while there he participated in various extra-curricular activities including track in Junior High. He always said he was good enough to make it to the Olympics. Tony was a graduate of G.W. Carver High School class of 1972. While there he studied Auto Mechanics and Radio & TV repair. In his free time he taught himself how to play the guitar, although it was more strumming than playing. 

Tony worked a short time for the City of Atlanta, shortly thereafter he was hired at Therrell-Kizer Roofing Company. Tony’s hard work with the company was acknowledge when he was made foreman. He retired with over 20 years of exemplary employment. 

Tony accepted Christ at New Life Christian Ministries under the leadership of Apostle Kinney Redding. Tony was an avid bible scholar, and literally took the verse "Study to show thyself approved" to heart. Tony was married to Tarra (Shay) Fambro on October 17, 2003. Together they formed a blended family with four children Teresa Spikes, Angela Knight, Kearston Fambro and Tony Spikes.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents Rolland Wardell & Genella Knight, brother Rev. Bobby Knight, and great grandson Chance Zakie Tony Fambro. Tony departed this life peacefully on January 26, 2021. He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife Tarra (Shay) Knight, a devoted sister Pamela Kendrick, four children, twelve grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
