On the evening of January 12th, 2022 at Legacy Transitional Care and Rehab in Atlanta, Georgia, Jonathan Evans Menefee heard the voice of his Savior and he quickly answered, “Yes Lord, I’m ready”. He closed his eyes on this side but opened them up in glory. He no longer has to fight with the pain that attacked his body, the sleepless nights, the visits to dialysis, treatments, or the troubles of this world. He fought a good fight and finished his course with the victory in Jesus. Funeral Service will take place on Friday, January 28, 2022 at 11:00 AM in the Carl M. Williams Funeral Directors Chapel, 492 Larkin St. SW, Atlanta, GA. 30313. Pastor Pierce Slade officiating. Viewing will take place on Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm in our chapel.

Jonathan Evans Menefee was born on July 4,1955 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Arthur (Hawk) Harold Menefee and Jonnie Dale Evans. Jonathan attended Boggs Academy in Keysville, Georgia. After graduation, Jonathan enlisted in the US ARMY. He was honorably discharged. Jonathan was a former employee of Lockheed Martin. He retired as a painter from a family-owned business, and ambitiously became an entrepreneur of fashion. He lived his life according to his motto, “Everything’s Gucci”.
He is preceded in death by his Father Arthur Harold (Hawk) Menefee, Mother Jonnie Dale Evans- Hinton, Brother Eric Hinton, Grandmother Irene (Big Ma) Menefee, Uncle John Henry Menefee, Aunt/Mom Ruby Menefee, Uncle Paul Menefee, Uncle Wallace Menefee, Uncle John Henry Menefee Jr, and Uncle Clarence Jackie Menefee.
Jonathan leaves to cherish his precious memories one sister Beverly Menefee- Poindexter, Savannah, Georgia; four brothers Marvin (Asli) Menefee, Roseville, California; Clark (Yvette) Menefee, Roseville, California; Arthur Menefee, Roseville, California; Bryant (Nichelle) Menefee, Houston, Texas; Uncle Johnny Menefee, California. Cousins Jaqueline Menefee, Christina Menefee, Tim Hutchins, Paul Menefee Jr., William Menefee, James Menefee, Tracey Menefee, Jaqueline Faye Menefee, Marcus Menefee, Stephanie Evans (James) Robinson, and Gregory Evans. In addition, more cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of dedicated friends. Jonathan also leaves behind a special friend, Sabrina Wakefield.
Jonathan, our beloved brother, nephew, uncle, cousin, and friend, we will miss you.
