Briana Gates of Fairburn, GA passed on January 8, 2021. Funeral services will take place on Friday, January 22, 2021 at 11:00 am at Liberty Baptist Church, 395 Chamberlain St, SE, Atlanta, GA. 30312. Interment will take place at Lakeside Memorial Gardens 7780 Ono Road, Palmetto, GA.  Due to COVID19, limited seating will be available at the church.

Ms. Briana Michelle Gates (affectionately known as Bri) was a beloved daughter, granddaughter, sister, cousin and friend. She was born on May 23, 1996 to Latanya Townsend-Gates and Kenneth Gates. Briana had the most beautiful smile that could brighten anyone’s day. She was quirky and funny and loved her family and friends. Briana’s personality could light up a room.

Briana was an intelligent young lady. While in high school, she was inducted into the national honor society, and earned multiple scholarships for college. Briana attended the University of South Carolina upstate campus for a year before transferring to Georgia Military college in Fairburn GA. Her major was nursing with dreams of being an OB/GYN physician.

Briana was a lover of God. She was aware that her faith in God is what kept and sustained her. She was brought up in church under the leadership of Bishop Jerome Norman of Full Gospel Mission church who preceded her death. Briana was a dedicated member to her church in NY before relocating to the south. During her tenure at FGM in NY, Briana was a dedicated usher and member of the Trinity Praisers as she loved to sing and dance. After relocating to the Georgia, Briana became a member of Rush Memorial United church of Christ under the leadership of Pastor Michael Malcom. Under his leadership, Bri was a member of the Praise team and later became the church secretary.

Briana is preceded in death by her Great Grandmother Sarah, Great Grandfather James, grandmother Georgia and God Father Frederick. She leaves to mourn her parents Latanya and Kenneth, sisters Chanel, Shaquana and Shamyka, brothers Elijah Jamel and Kenneth Jr, special Uncles Eric and Derick, special Aunt Marieta, Grandfathers Bishop Johnny Townsend, Motel and Edward, Grandmothers Sarah and Claudine, Godmother Lisa, Best friends Danny, Rockie, Gabby and Sapphire and a host of Aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends.
