Willie Lewis Morgan

Willie Lewis Morgan of Stonecrest, GA passed August 26, 2020.  Private memorial service will be held on Friday, September 4, 2020 at 11 a.m., with The Reverend Bryan Small, officiating. Mr. Willie L. Morgan; loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away in Stonecrest, Georgia on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at the age of 88. Willie attended Atlanta Public Schools – Gray Street Elementary, Davis Street Junior High and the historic Booker T. Washington High School. He graduated from high school and married for the first time in June 1952. He was drafted into the United States Army in October 1952. Between the years of 1953-1956, three children were born. The young family would then relocate to Chicago, IL in 1958; in 1963 the family became affiliated with the Catholic church. Willie was employed at the Chicago O'Hare International Airport and later with General Motors Automotive Division in Illinois from 1964 until his retirement in 1997, at which time he would relocate back to the Atlanta metro area. He is survived by his wife of twenty-six years; Darlene Yarborough-Morgan, children Octavius Morgan, Sr., Stein Morgan and Angeliere M. Thorne. Grandchildren include Davina Morgan, Octavius Morgan, Jr., Lydia M. Ellis, Donte' Morgan, Talia M. Shell, Justin Morgan, Chaz Morgan, Shannon Morgan, Yolanda Thorne, Candis Thorne and Christopher;  sister, Annie Lee Askew; twenty great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
