Susie Mae Adams (Bell) Jones

Susie Mae Jones was born November 16, 1923.  Our matriarch, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, surrounded by many loved ones passed away peacefully on January 22, 2022.

Susie was a lifelong resident of Atlanta, Georgia.  She loved to and did venture far to many places in the world in her lifetime, almost always a "family trip".

Susie was fiercely loving, dedicated, loyal and a tenacious cheerleader and supporter for her entire family whether through blood or addition. She graciously molded many through the strength of her love and caring to which created in large part what the family is today.

She found pleasure in many things, homemaking, cooking, gardening, music, reading and a variety of social and family events. She loved the outdoors and preserving the nature around her.

It is so fitting that on this first day of national "Black History Month" Susie is being laid to rest and will be commemorated in that heritage for that in all of history, there's no one the family knows that more generously contributed to the lives and character of the many people that were privileged to have known or met her.

She was predeceased by her husband of 67 years Mr. Lewis C Jones. Left to cherish her memory and fulfill her legacy are her children: Patricia, William, Susan, Donna Janeira, and Lamont, a vast host of relatives, dear friends, former and present neighbors, and a lot of acquaintances are saddened by our loss and will miss her deeply.

Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at 12 noon at Westview Cemetery (Section 44), 1680 Westview Drive SW, Atlanta, Georgia.  We ask that everyone attending please be assembled at 595 Alfred Rd NW, Atlanta, GA 30331 at 11:30 AM.

Viewing will take place on Monday, January 31, 2022, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. in our chapel located at 492 Larkin St. SW, Atlanta, Georgia 30313.
