Ples James Bruce, Sr.

Mr. Ples James Bruce, Sr., 86, of Atlanta passed away, Sunday, October 4, 2015.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Monday, October 26, 2015 at 11:00AM at Saint Paul's Episcopal Church, 306 Peyton Road, SW, Atlanta, Georgia 30311.

Ples was very involved with his children and adored his grandchildren. He took great pride in helping them develop into exceptional students and leaders among their peers.

He is survived by his devoted wife Flora; four children, Ples James Bruce, II (Kameelah), Plesetia Joy Bruce Winston (Charlie), Pinetta Jan Bruce-Brookes (Mansfield) and Patrick Jonathan Bruce, Sr. (Pamela); eleven grandchildren, Keisa Bruce (Danielle), Ples James Bruce, III (Vashtina), Ingrid Flora Winston Herron, J.D. (Gibb), David Joel Winston, Maia Tena Brookes, Patrick Jonathan Bruce, Jr., Olivia Ashley Brookes, Paige Janea' Bruce, Kimberly Denise Winston, Aaliyah Goodman (Thaddious) and Tauheedah Griffin (Yuseff);  brothers-in-law, John Henry Rhodes, Gary Rhodes (Valerie) and James Gordon Sr.; sisters-in-law, Cynthia Baker, Dorothy Livingston (John), Chris Rhodes and Rev. Vivian Castain; special cousins, Dorothy White, Helen Lane (David) and Katie Banks; five great-grandchildren and numerous other family members.

The family would like to express a special appreciation for the caring members of the teams at A.G. Rhodes at Wesley Woods and Crossroads Hospice.
