IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Patricia B.
(Beverly) Young
March 5, 1941 – October 25, 2025
Patricia Anne Young
Patricia Young was born on March 5, 1941 in Garfield Hospital in NW Washington DC, to the late Florence and Sumner Beverly. Pat was the proud big sister to the late Barbara Jean Beverly Humphries.
In 1959, Pat married Bill Young and they became the proud parents of Debra, Kevin and Beverly. In the early 70s, Pat stepped up to pinch-hit as the coach for Debra and Kevin's bowling league. Although she knew nothing about bowling at the time, this was the commencement of a long-standing love for the sport. Pat traveled all over the country with her bowling team, where she met lifelong friends.
In 1996, Pat retired as a Grant Specialist from the Department of Education, after working 33 years for the Federal Government. The following year, she left the DC area to relocate to Palm Coast, FL to take care of her ailing mother. While living there, she continued to find enjoyment in bowling.
In 2014, Pat relocated to the Atlanta area to be closer to some of her family. She found joy in her casino escapades and traveling in general. Pat never met a stranger and could always be found doing for others, whether it be making blankets for the homeless or making her famous seafood salad to share with friends.
Pat leaves behind: daughters Debra and Beverly, and son, Kevin (Sylvia). Grandchildren: Wendy, Andrea, Kevin, Richard and Kia. Niece: Anika. Great niece & nephew: Robert and Nia. Cousins: Jewa, Shelley and the Jenkins clan. Pat also leaves behind a long list of special friends.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at 2 p.m. at our chapel with Reverend Albert Lindsey, Jr., officiating.
