Katherine Elizabeth Brown

Katherine Elizabeth Brown, of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2024, a loving mother, sister, aunt, and cousin.  Katherine was born September 2, 1952, in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Charlie Kelley and Beulah Petty. Katherine was one of six children, Barbara (Petty) Simmons (deceased), Anthony Petty, Michael Petty (deceased), Charlesia (Kelley) Fair, Tony Kelley, and Tim Kelley.

Katherine married Charles Brown, Jr. and had two children, Charles III, and Carlton Brown. Katherine attended Walker Street Elementary School and Washington High School. She graduated from Washington High School in the class of 1970. She worked at Burger King on Fair Street for several years. She also worked at Grady Memorial Hospital in the Food Service Department for forty-four years until retiring in 2014.

Katherine is survived by two sons, Charles Brown III and Carlton Brown in Atlanta, GA, one sister, Charlesia Fair of Atlanta, GA., and three brothers, Anthony Petty, Tim Kelley, Tony Kelley in Texas, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends.

The public viewing will be Wednesday, June 5 at Carl Williams' Funeral Chapel from 1 to 6:00 p.m. The funeral services will be Thursday, June 6 at 1:00 p.m. at The True Light Baptist Church at 47 Anderson Ave. NW, Atlanta, GA 30314. The remains will be placed in state at the church at 10 a.m.
