Mrs. Gurtha Mae Barnes Gaither of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2016.

The Celebration of Life for Mrs. Gurtha Mae Barnes Gaither will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 12:00Noon at Calvary Baptist Church, 2134 Cambridge Avenue, College Park, Georgia with Reverend Dr. Dan Tibbs, officiating. The Ivy Beyond the Wall Ceremony of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. will be held at the church at 11:00AM on the morning of the service.

She leaves to cherish her memories her husband of 42 years, Michael Gaither, Sr.; four children, Michael, Jr. (Lythea) of Savannah, GA,  David (Jasmine) of Mableton, GA, Nadee of Atlanta, GA and Christopher (Rebecca) of San Francisco, CA; two grandchildren, Michael Gaither, III of Atlanta, GA  and Isabella Gaither of Mableton, GA; seven siblings, Wilbert Barnes, Patricia Barnes, Jerry Barnes (Judy), Resna Boyd (Willie George), Carol Lovejoy (Willie Lewis) all of Grady, AL, Lisa Carr (Lonnie) of Huntsville, AL and Marion Jackson of Lorain, OH; aunt, Rose Chinn of San Antonio, TX; uncles, A.C. Barnes and Richard Harris of Lorain, OH and Robert Harris(Cluster) of Grady, AL, four sisters-in law, seven brothers-in-law; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
