Mrs. Estella Turner of Atlanta, Georgia passed away on Monday, October 6, 2014.
The Celebration of Life for Mrs. Estella Turner will be held on Friday, October 10, 2014 at 11:00AM at West Mitchell Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, 560 Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive, Southwest with Reverend Doctor Lisa McClaurin, Pastor, officiating. Her remains will be placed in state at 10:00AM on the morning of the service. Interment, SouthView Cemetery.
Estella Delores Clark Turner was the youngest of three daughters born to the late Willie G. and Julia (Seabrooks) Clark on March 2, 1938 in Atlanta, Georgia. She was educated in Atlanta Public Schools attending E.A. Ware Elementary, Davis Street School, and Booker T. Washington High School where she graduated in 1955. She attended Spelman College and Blayton Business School. Estella worked as an Administrative Assistant for Atlanta Public Schools for forty one years.
Estella was christened as a baby at West Mitchell C.M.E. Church where she remained a member until her health declined. She participated in Sunday School, the choir, and in various organizations. In 1964, Estella was united in marriage to the Rudolph Turner, and to this union two daughters were born, Julie and Eljeanita Joi.
Estella was preceded in death by her father, Willie G. Clark; mother, Julia S. Clark; sister, Jacquelyn C. Diggs; husband, Rudolph Turner. Estella leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Julie T. Hodo and Eljeanita Joi Turner Thompson; sister, Mrs. Jean C. Kelly; son-in-law, Darrell Hodo; granddaughters, Maci Jae Hodo and Darcee Kirklyn Hodo; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
