Eric Maurice Saxon

Eric Maurice Saxon 75, was a beloved family member and friend to many. He passed into his eternal home on December 26, 2024. Eric grew up in Atlanta and graduated from Morehouse College. He served two years in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He retired from Lockheed Martin where he worked as a Senior Accountant for 20+ years. He also served clients as a tax preparer for over 30 years, many of whom continued to rely upon his services up until his passing. His greatest work though was as a devoted father of three and grandfather to one.

Eric was a dedicated member of First Congregational Church, UCC, and a lifetime member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated. He believed deeply in giving back to his community, especially his beloved Morehouse College and other HBCUs. Family and friends knew they could turn to Eric for an extra hand. He regularly helped others financially and physically, providing support with various needs around the house and transportation.

His memory is entrusted to his sons, Eric Jr. (Cicely) and Justin; daughter, Dorie; granddaughter Isabelle "Izzy"; devoted partner Lenoa "Noa" Smith; brothers, Charles Jr. and Robert "Bobby"; nieces, Danielle (Migale), Karli (Desron); nephew, Charles, III (Kimberly); former spouses, Rubinell Saxon and Andretta Nance, and many cousins, extended family members, and friends that helped him to live a full and vibrant life.

Public viewing is available Thursday Jan 2nd from 1-6 PM at Carl Williams Funeral Home, 492 Larkin St SW, Atlanta, GA 30313. Alpha Phi Alpha Omega service at 6 PM.

The funeral service will take place Friday Jan 3rd at 11 AM at First Congregational Church of Christ, UCC, 105 Courtland St NE, Atlanta, GA 30303.
