Mr. Eldridge Nelson Williams of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2014.
Homegoing service for Mr. Eldridge Nelson Williams will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 12:00 Noon at Cosmopolitan African Methodist Episcopal Church, 170 Vine Street, Northwest. Interment, Greenwood Cemetery.
Survivors are his mother, Mrs. Edna Washington; sisters, Angela Dunn and Miriam Fort, other relatives and friends.
Over the years Eldridge Nelson Williams participated in numerous art exhibits all over Metro Atlanta, at city halls, museums, schools, libraries and art festivals. In spite of some challenges that sometimes led to errors in judgement even homelessness. Nelson always kept his faith and maintained his relationship with Jesus Christ. He was a devout member of Cosmopolitan AME Church where he taught Sunday School.
Nelson was actively involved in the Vine City Neighborhood in which he lived. Since 2010, Eldridge was a model employee for the City of Atlanta Public Works Department, Solid Waste Services Division, where he received awards for attendance on the job in 2013 and 2014. Nelson always sought ways to use his art to uplift the image of the Public Works Department and the City of Atlanta. He will be missed.
The wake will be held Monday, December 29, 2014 from 7:00PM to 8:00PM in the chapel of Carl M. Williams Funeral Directors, Inc., 492 Larkin Street, Southwest, Atlanta, Georgia.
