Edward Lewis Rogers, III.

The world became brighter on April 5, 1990 the day that Edward Lewis Rogers, III was born in Bridgeport, CT.  Edward sadly passed on Wednesday, December 6, 2023.

Those who knew Edward, knew he was a gentle and kind soul, he loved animals, nature and science.  His first words were spoken at 4 months old and they were "I LOVE  YOU!"  he loved football and using his hands for planting and even a certificate in horticulture.  He was a naturally talented artist, studied many different religions and cultures.  Loved cooking and eating exotic foods that not many would even try.  He was intelligent, funny, and kind to anyone he came into contact with.

Edward sadly leaves to mourn and carry his light, Loving Mother, Donna M. Pettway of Atlanta, GA; his father, Edward L. Rogers, Jr.; grandfather, Edward L. Rogers, Sr. both of Lima, Ohio; sisters, Taylor C. Rogers of Pensacola, FL and Temeca Jenkins, of Columbus, OH; brother, Edward D. Scott Rogers of Columbus, OH; cousins who were like brothers/sisters, Edward grew up with, Shanea Cheek, Walter Cheek, and Rashieka Best, all of the Atlanta area; his special butterfly, niece, Bella Rose Rogers.  He leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and people who loved his light and will miss his energy dearly.  he is predeceased by  his maternal grandparents, Albert and Rosa Pettway and paternal grand mother, Linda Rogers.

To honor Edward's memory, we are holding a celebration of his life on Monday, December 18, 2023 at 11 a.m. at our chapel, located at 492 Larkin St., SW, Atlanta, GA 30313
