Mrs. Eartha Poitier

Mrs. Eartha Mae Poitier of Atlanta passed away on Monday, August 10, 2015.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at 11:00AM at Big Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, 220 Auburn Avenue, Northeast, Rev. Dr. John Foster, PhD., Pastor with Rev. Gregory V. Eason, officiating.  The remains will be placed in state at the church at 10:00AM.

At an early age she accepted Christ at Allen Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church, Sanford, Florida  She married the late Alexander Joseph Poitier.  To this union was born two sons, Thomas Richard Poitier and the late Rodney James Poitier.  She taught Health and Physical Education for 35 years.  Eartha leaves her son, two sisters and one brother.

Family and friends are requested to assemble at the church at 10:30AM on the morning of the service.
