Reflections of Life
Charles Frank Green was born on February 23, 1935, in Atlanta, Georgia to Ernest and Janie (Cox) Green. He was the second of his parent's three children. His sister, Marian Green Goodrum and brother Kenneth Joseph Green, along with his parents preceded him in death.
Charles grew up serving the Lord at Providence Missionary Baptist Church. As a faithful servant Charles served as a member of the Brotherhood, President of Young at Heart, Charter member of the Van Ministry, Charter member of the Walter R. McCall Ushers, member of the Senior Usher Board, Vice President of the Pulpit Search Committee, and a Deacon for over 40 years, as well as serving as Deacon Board Chairperson for 4 years. He loved his church and was a dedicated faithful member.
Charles attended Booker T. Washington High School and served as President of the Class of 1952 alumni group for several years until his transition. After leaving high school Charles enrolled at Clark College. After leaving Clark, Charles enlisted in the United States Air Force. Charles worked at the VA Medical Center until he retired. After retirement, Charles started working at the Hyatt Hotel until his health started to fail.
In 1980, Charles married his soulmate, Barbara Lawrence Daniel. Their love blended two families and they became the proud parents of 6 children. Charles and Barbara loved to travel. They made it a mission to visit all 50 states, as well as traveled internationally. They have also set sail on 15 - 20 cruises. Although they enjoyed traveling alone, they often traveled with one or more of their children, Charles's mother-in-law, grandkids, the Paschall's, the Grady Nurses, and the Charms and Booker T. Washington groups.
Early Monday morning on October 17, 2022, Charles departed this earthy life. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sibling and his oldest child Charles Frank Green, Jr. (GoGo), and son-in-law, Derrick Mims.
