On April 19, 1954, Anita Laurene Mallard graced this earthly plane and on Friday, June 26, 2026, she took eternal rest safely in His arms. Anita was a life member of Lindsay Street Baptist Church, and her anointed voice blessed congregations across the nation. Among her many gifts, was her genuine passion to nurture youth where she served as a Sunday School and Youth Department teacher for over 30 years. This gift transcended the walls of the church and appeared professionally in her service at Sheltering Arms, an early childhood education organization where she served youth and families for over a decade.

Her only son, Jonas Kennard Mallard proceeded her in death. Her legacy leaves, devoted husband of 47 years, James Mallard; daughter-in-love, Maya Mallard; stepsons, Vincente (Carmen) Mallard and Derek (Becky) Mallard; grandchildren, Jocelyn Macon, Derek Mallard, Jr., Antonio Mallard, Janiya Mallard, and Julius Mallard; sisters, Venita Brown and Denise Barksdale; Ellis family matriarch, Evelyn White; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family that will hold memories of her voice and smile.

The service for Anita Laurene Mallard will be Friday, July 3 at 11:00 a.m. at Lindsay Street Baptist Church at 550 Lindsay St N.W., Atlanta, GA 30314.
