Alzata Tharpe

Mrs. Alzata (Phillips) Chisholm Tharpe, a native of Savannah, Georgia, made her transition from life to eternal rest on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 in Atlanta, Georgia. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 1008 MLK. Jr., Boulevard in Savannah, Georgia, where she served as a member of Sunday School, the Junior League and other organization in the church. She was a retired dietitian of Chatman-Savannah Public Schools. She lived in the Cloverdale Community for over 40 years. She relocated to Atlanta, Georgia in 1997 to be closer to her family.

Her celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at 11:00AM at Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 3670 Boulder Park Drive, Southwest in Atlanta, Georgia. Interment, Greenwood Cemetery. Public visitation will be held at 10:00AM at the church on the morning of the service.

She leaves to cherish her memory, son, Willie B. (Johnnie) Chisholm of Atlanta, Georgia; step son-in law, Eddie M. McKissick of Savannah, Georgia; two granddaughters, Erika Joye and Johnnise LaBoyd Chisholm of Atlanta, Georgia; step-granddaughter, DeAnna Cory; two step-grandsons, Eddie McKissick Jr. of Miami, Florida and Charles Mims, Lawrenceville, Georgia; one great-grandson, Antione Chisholm of Atlanta, Georgia, several other step-great-grandchildren; goddaughter, Tracey J. Jackson of Rincon, Georgia; a host of relatives and friends.
