Alta Phatena Sutton

Alta Phatena Sutton, the daughter of the late Ozell and Joanna Sutton, transitioned on Saturday, April 27, 2024.   She was  a loving mother, grandmother, sister, friend and business owner.  She was also a dedicated, talented, and skillful concert pianist, composer and choir director. She is survived by her offspring, daughter, Afrika Jonee Pratt-Ansa and son, Khalil Jibri Ozell Sutton; sisters, Angela Sutton and Dietre Sutton; grandchildren, Kamryn Alta-Marie, Kaidyn Marie and Kingston Ozell Dietrich Sutton; and a host of other relatives and friends.  The public viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2024 from 1 to 6 p.m. at our chapel with the family receiving friends from 5 to 6 p.m.  The memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Friendship Baptist Church, 80 Walnut St., SW.  The Memorial Service of the Links, Inc. will be held at 10:30.
