Mr. Abraham Gross, Jr. (Abe) passed away Saturday, May 4, 2013. Memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at 11 a.m. at our chapel with Rev. Marvin McKinstry, officiating. The memorial service of Kappa Alpha Psi will be held at 10 a.m. at the chapel.

Mr. Gross passed away at Piedmont Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.  He was born on January 27, 1929 to the late Mabel and Abraham Gross of Macon. GA. Abe is described by his daughter as a caring, loving, and thoughtful father and grandfather.

Abraham was educated in the Macon County School System, where he graduated from Ballard High School.  He later entered Fort Valley State College to further his education.  While there he became a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated.  He entered the United States Army and after an honorable discharge from the Army, he moved to Atlanta to marry the love of his life Barbara Maddox, who he met while attending Fort Valley State College.  They were joined in holy matrimony on November 6, 1954.  To this union two daughters were born, Gabrielle and Leilajean.  He was married for 44 years until Barbara's untimely death.

Abraham "Abe" Gross, Jr. was preceded in death by his parents, Mabel and Abraham Gross, sisters, Jean Gilbert and Goldie Gross and his beloved Aunt, Gold (Leila Jackson).  He is lovingly survived by his daughters, Gabrielle Glenn, Leilajean Roman (Artlas); grandchildren, Lauryn Thomas, Drew, Jordan and Kaylin Roman; brother, Tommy Gross (Gloria); sister-in-law, Dr. Jacquelyn Woods-Thompson (William); special friend, Betty Mays; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
