I'm so saddened to hear of Dr. Cook's passing. My encounters with him started as a little girl in the living room of my home as he prepared to speak at Southern. I would then come to Dillard as a freshman where Dr. Cook gave me a scholarship, a job, home cooked meals and lots of direction. My Dad came to Dillard after my tenure for what was to be one year and stated an additional nine--only leaving because Dr. Cook retired.
