Dr. Cason Louis Hill, 84 died in his Atlanta home on Saturday, April 8, 2017 after battling a terminal illness.He leaves behind his wife Virginia (Wilson) Hill of 62 years; his son, Alan Patrick Hill and his wife, Melinda Mayfield Hill; his sons, Ronald Hill, Derek Hill, two grandchildren, Alan Chase Hill, Monique Powell; Sister Posie Lee Wright of Detroit, Michigan; Nephew Andre Hill of LaGrange, GA.
Born and raised in LaGrange, GA, the son of the late Frank and Wille Belle Hill.
Dr. Hill was always academically inclined, he graduated from Morehouse College, 1953 with Bachelors of Arts, (Cum Laude). Then on to a Masters degree at Atlanta University. Summer studies at Penn State, Indiana University, ultimately receiving his Ph.d from University of Georgia..
Dr. Hill taught sixth grade with Atlanta Public Schools, then went on to join the Army, Capiteux, France, Troop Information and Education Lecturer; he taught academic courses to non-commissioned officers. Later went on to teach English at Morehouse College for fifty- two years. During his tenure at Morehouse College, Dr. Hill chaired the Education Department, Editor for the College Language Association Journal, and many other publications over the years
Dr. Hill was a member of Sigma Tau Delta Honor Society, College Language Association, Knights of Columbus, Society of Saint Vincent de Paul, Saint Paul of the Cross Roman Catholic Church.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 11:00, at the King International Chapel on the Campus of Morehouse College, laid in state from 9:30-10:45. Dr. Hill will be buried at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta, GA.
