Mr. Everett Mosley

Mr. Everett Mosley of Atlanta, passed on October 6, 2016.  Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 11 a.m. at our chapel, with Pastor Clyde P. Jones, officiating.  Interment, Lincoln Memorial Cemetery. The life of Everett Mosley began on April 10, 1927. Everett was born to the late Christopher Columbus Mosley and Katie Hudnall Mosley in Kemper County , Mississippi( Blackwater).  He was next to the youngest sibling out of twelve.  That is where Everett grew in strength and knowledge.  Everett attended the local school in he community as well as helped on the farm by sharecropping with his family.  He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior.

Everett's first job was at the age of 19 as a shoe shiner.  He performed his job with diligence and pride.  Continuing his work ethics, he then worked for the George A. Hormel Company for 38 years in Fort Dodge, IA which he embraced in his position as the utility man.

Everett loved sharing time with family and friends.  Born to his first union in marriage with Fannie Mae Mosely, Everett had four beautiful daughters, Mrs. Annie Terrie Storey, Mrs. Gail Andrews (deceased), Ms. Dorothy Mosley and Ms. Donna Mosley (deceased).

Everett met Minnie L. Portis in the fall of 1954.  Their courtship continued until they vowed in marriage on June 11, 1955.  They were married 59 years before Minnie's death on October 31, 2014.  To this union in marriage, he had two beautiful daughters, Dr. Bernadine Conner and Pastor Sylvia Jones.  Everett had a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

During his lifetime, he considered himself to be well-traveled.  He traveled extensively to nine European countries in 1968.  He also traveled to Canada, Jamaica, and mostly to all of the 50 states.

Everett was a devoted husband, a protective father, and a friend.  He enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, hunting, fishing and camping.

If one were asked to describe Everett in a few words, these words would be strong, protector, provider, dignified, respectable, hardworking, fun, loving, handsome, intelligent, and positive.

Upon retiring, Everett continued to travel with his wife Minnie.  They attended family reunions and visited family frequently.  He had a passion for laughter and causing others to laugh as well.

On October 6, 2016, Everett embarked on a new journey to be with the Lord.

He was preceded in death by his father, Christopher Columbus and mother, Katie, his brothers, Lindy, Jesse, Leon, Sherman, and Alex, and his sisters, Dottie, Clotie, Mary Alice, Neneva, and Luvera.  Everett leaves to mourn, his sister, Luvern (94 years old), his four daughters, his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
