For over thirty-five years, Carl Michael Williams has served
families throughout Metropolitan Atlanta, as a funeral
director and embalmer at Ivey Brothers Funeral Home,
Inc. Carl served with dignity and expressed concern for
the families he came in contact with. |
|
|
|
Upon the death of the owner Clara Ivey Wilson in 1992,
Carl served as President of Ivey Brothers until he
purchased the business from her estate in August of
1994. The funeral home new name became Ivey-Williams
Funeral Home for one year. The Ivey name could only be
used for one year of transition. In 1995 the business
was renamed Carl M. Williams Funeral Directors, Inc. |

The trust and confidence that was placed in Carl during
the three years of transition had inspired him to move
forward with the determination to provide the community
with the highest professional standard of service. Carl
M. Williams Funeral Directors, Inc. is a family owned
business pledging to continue the tradition of caring
and reliable service delivered to customers in the most
dignified manner. Thank you for your support....as the

- Ivey Brothers Funeral Home was established at Walker
Street. The founders were Estelle Ivey & James E. Ivey

1926 - Ivey Brothers moved to Larkin Street in a wood- framed house Henry Ivey became President
-
1935 - Present building was built

1962 - Clara Ivey Wilson became President after the death of her father (Henry Ivey)

1975 - Carl M. Williams came to Ivey Brothers as a mortuary student

1977 - Carl M. Williams became a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer

1992 - Clara Ivey Wilson passed

1992 - Carl M. Williams became president of Ivey Brothers Funeral Home, Inc.

1994 - Carl M. Williams purchased the funeral home from Clara Ivey Wilson Estate. The funeral home was renamed Ivey-Williams Funeral Home

1995 - Present - Funeral home was renamed to Carl M. Williams Funeral Directors, Inc.
